Smash the workout

Today’s workout was one of the those moments I felt I am back in the saddle and ready to accomplish anything, I have been a regular gym-goer for over two years. But over the last few weeks I hit a slump.

We all recognise it, Easter comes along every year and we gorge every chocolate egg and eat all the hot cross buns insight. It’s traditional, we do it without thinking, but it comes at a cost.

Our energy sinks and we spend most of days on the couch. I would describe it as the constant feeling of “I want” similar to a child and suddenly I want everything insight. But today, kicked that habit, got myself back at the gym, drank a gallon of water.

The next thing I knew it as if the the light switch had turned on. I was not that woman that felt couched watching This morning followed by all the rubbish on daytime television.

I was that woman on a mission and this time hitting the treadmill for twenty minutes warm up and then working on the weights and muscle groups, while enjoying Nu Breed’s Outlaw Man and Welcome to my House.

Then doing a 9 mile cycle at smashing speeds of between 12-15mph and finally I felt my heart racing at 156bpm.

Finally creating that buzz, I wanna do more and quite frankly I could have done another 5 miles or more.

I’m now ready to show the world, I mean business.
